FEBRUARY 25TH A DAY AT THE DEMON CENTER.

WEEKLY BLOG

I visited the "Demon Center" (which is located on 174 & university in the Bronx) to practice a little routine for a show I have coming up in June. I made alot of progress, and I even decided to work on "Hat tricks."

I volunteered at a homeless shelter on Powers avenue in the Bronx . We watched a couple of old dance videos to learn where certain dances came from, and we spoke about how similar/different the dances were to each other and to the dances we do today.

MARCH 9TH CATCHING UP WITH DANCE.

I went to a 2 Real meeting downtown on 27th st , and tried out for the team. I am no longer 2lk now, so my former CEO is acting "Salty," lol. Well he's upset at me but life goes on . It's for the better. Time to do some bigger things.

MARCH 14TH OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW.

I  went to the Demon Center and joined a cypher that they was having. Also had time to practice with Q-Tip. We worked on how to switch tempos when I dance.

MARCH 18TH PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.

The Arc center was open so I decided to take that trip to Brooklyn and go "Labb" by myself. I practiced hat tricks and holding my breath during drops in order to maintain my stamina. There was a couple battles as well, but the only one I decided to watch was "Double A Vs K Shakes." The winner of the battle will be decided on YouTube.

MARCH 27TH THE ARC

APRIL 6TH THE DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP.

The staff at The Demon Center decided to have a development workshop, where everyone gets to show what they got and get feedback from the audience. Then after, they get to get some tips from other dancers. It was really nice. I enjoyed my feedback , and the tips I was given will definitely be used.

MARCH 31ST EAR'S FIRST SALON

The EAR Residency had our first salon, where we showcased a short preview of our artistic discipline to our mentors, friends , and cohort peers. I was a little unprepared but overall it was a nice experience. I liked the fact that I got to show everyone my specific style of dancing and I enjoyed The feedback as well.

I went to Canal St to meet up with my mentor Melanie at a dance studio called "The Spot." At the time when we went it happened to be a flexing class in session, so I watched and took a little tips from one of the flexing instructors. After, Melanie and I spoke about tournaments and events coming up that I could enter or attend,to expand my aspects of "Dance."

APRIL 12TH MEETING WITH MEL.

I went downtown to Houston 2nd Avenue to do a photoshoot with my cohort peers Kelvin, & Ray, for our final project that were working on. Kelvin got a few shots of me dancing in front of a colorful mural, dancing in the middle of the street, and dancing on a rooftop. Overall the photoshoot was successful, and it turned out to be alot of fun.

APRIL 16TH THE PHOTOSHOOT.

So there was a litefeet tournament located at Exile Professional Gym & Studio on 27th st 2nd ave, that I didnt feel like entering. Fortunnately the person I'm under, Q-Tip entered and he won. The grand prize was 100$. I had alot of fun at that event just watching my creator do his thing and take out many dancers one by one. From dancers with names to dancers thats still trying to get their name out. Q-Tip made me so proud.

MARCH 21ST LITEFEET TOURNAMENT.

MAY 2ND MY FIRST BATTLE.

Okay so , I went to an event to spectate, to support Q-Tip and to labb. It was called, "The Lock In." The event was held at the EXPG dance studio on 27th St & 2nd Ave. Like I said, I went there for my own reasons , and also kind of late, but as soon as I walked in "Chry Baby," (the person who's event it was"came to me and asked if I wanted to battle today. I told him yeah pick anybody and he picked his creation. My battle was the first battle of the night and I went first. I wasn't nervous .. nothing. I battled her, won, and I wasn't even satisfied. It was one round. Not really what I expected. Easy win.. I wish she would of went first because I would of never battled her, Honestly.

APRIL 24TH BACK TO THE ARC.

I WENT TO THE ARC AND IT WAS NOOOOOO BATTLES! NOT ONE! I could not believe it .. lol I always go to the ARC centerexpecting new rookies battle, and to work on my own moves. But this time I just had to work on my moves , and my moves only. At first it was kind of upsetting because I actually wanted to watch some battles today, well atleast 2, but then I took it as an opportunity to really work on something creative. And I did. I actually used the ARC time very productively.
